Dr. Alex Babcock, a valuable addition to the Icemen coaching staff since the fall of 2019, brings a unique and beneficial dynamic to the team. Originally from Elk River, Alex attended Bethany Lutheran College where he played a significant role in their baseball program. As a pitcher, he earned recognition as a 2-time All-Conference player and ranked 17th in the nation with an impressive 1.6 ERA in 2017. Alex’s contributions were instrumental in Bethany’s historic conference title run in 2018, securing three wins in the playoffs.

Alex’s exceptional skills also granted him the opportunity to showcase his talent in the renowned Northwoods League. In 2017, he played for the Thunder Bay Bordercats, and in 2018, he joined the Mankato Moondogs, further highlighting his abilities on a bigger stage. Graduating from Bethany Lutheran with a degree in Exercise Science, Alex’s passion for helping athletes extend beyond the field.

He pursued further education and is currently a Doctor of Chiropractic. As a chiropractor, Dr. Alex treats many of the Icemen players at Maple Grove Family Chiropractic. His expertise in working with athletes and addressing soft tissue injuries provides a valuable resource for the team.

The Icemen coaching staff is delighted to have Alex on board, not only as a coach but also as someone who can leverage his chiropractic background to support the players’ well-being. His multidimensional role enhances the team’s performance and ensures that players receive comprehensive care.

With his extensive playing experience, educational background, and chiropractic expertise, Dr. Alex Babcock brings a wealth of knowledge and a holistic approach to coaching. His dedication to the development and well-being of the players makes him an integral part of the Icemen coaching staff, enriching the team both on and off the field.
